This year’s traditional Bata Week Festival was dedicated to Bata Schools of Work, which were founded 100 years ago. The festival program provided a detailed overview of Bata’s unique and, above all, timeless education system through expert lectures and guided tours of the Bata Villa.
During five busy festival days, a number of lecturers – experts on the Bata theme or one of its parts – took turns at the Bata Villa.
Vít Jakubíček spoke about Bata designers, Lucie Šmardová looked at schools, kindergartens, and educational institutions through the lens of architecture, Pavel Stojar introduced us to how young men and women spent their free time in Bata’s Zlín, and Tereza Kolumber gave us an insight into education, or rather Bata’s timeless school system. The conclusion of the ninth annual festival belonged to Gabriela Končitíková, who gave an exhaustive presentation on Bata Schools of Work to a packed audience at the Tomas Bata Villa. During her lecture, we also unveiled a unique Young Men’s costume and then discussed everything with the visitors at the traditional afterparty, which was dominated by the band Podjezd.
It was a truly inspiring week, as it should be. Thank you for being there with us!
