Every great story begins with a first step.
Just as Tomas Bata’s business was based on the courage to start and believe in his own idea, every author’s literary journey is born from the desire to express an idea and share it with others.
The Debut project was created to lend a hand to those who are at the beginning of their writing careers. We know that writing a book is a big dream – but publishing it, presenting it to readers, and bringing it to life is often the hardest part. This is where we want to be there to support you.
Our goal is to help beginning authors overcome the first obstacles: to offer them professional guidance, space for development, and support in the actual publication of their book. We believe that each of them has a voice that can enrich Czech literature and our lives.
How to apply
Beginning authors who want to take advantage of the support offered by the Debut project can send their manuscripts and completed application forms directly to the project and PR manager of the Thomas Bata Foundation:
