Cigareta napůl (Half a Cigarette) is the title of a novel by Vendula Juráková, a young author from Dolní Lhota near Luhačovice, which was published a few days ago by the Thomas Bata Foundation as part of its Debut project, which aims to support talented writers with literary gifts.
“At the beginning of their creative journey, we help selected authors not only with the graphic design and printing of their first book, but also with its publication and distribution. In short, we want to provide ideal starting conditions for emerging artists, regardless of their age and genre”, explains Jakub Malovaný, the project manager at the Thomas Bata Foundation.
Gabriela Končitíková, the director of the Thomas Bata Foundation, and Marian Ležák, the mayor of Luhačovice, became the godparents of the novel Cigareta napůl (Half a Cigarette), which tells intricate stories of young people who are coping with loss, searching for love, meaning, and their place in life. Markéta Holcmanová, an actress at the Municipal Theatre in Zlín, read several excerpts from the book.
