We are introducing a new form of support from our foundation, a project called Debut, which aims to give young literary authors a platform on their journey to publishing their first book.
As part of the project, the selected writer receives not only professional guidance, but also editorial and graphic design support, printing and distribution, and a public launch event for their work. The project is directly linked to the foundation's mission of helping young people discover and develop their talent, courage, and creativity.
The first book published as part of the Debut project: Cigareta napůl (Half a Cigarette)
The novel Cigareta napůl (Half a Cigarette) follows the intricate stories of young people who are coping with loss, searching for love, meaning of life, and their place in life. The author Vendula Juráková writes with authenticity, attention to detail, and openness that reflects the rawness and fragility of the current generation. The book's publication was recommended by renowned playwright and theatre director Jan Antonín Pitínský.
The book launch ceremony will take place at the Bata Villa on Tuesday, 21 October 2025.
