The President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, has granted patronage to activities within the upcoming celebrations “Bata 150 – The Desire to Create.” The celebratory year 2026, during which we will intensively commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Tomas Bata has thus received prestigious and completely exceptional social support, which the President of the Republic expresses through significant cultural, sporting, and charitable events.
“I think I can say on behalf of all the cooperating institutions and companies that the patronage of President Petr Pavel over the 'Bata 150' activities throughout 2026 is a great honour for us. At the same time, we see this patronage as confirmation of the fact that the legacy of Tomas Bata, his approach to responsible business and social values, has a strong significance for the present,” said Gabriela Končitíková, the director of the Thomas Bata Foundation.
The Thomas Bata Foundation is preparing a whole series of interesting events for 2026. For example, in April, it will organize the Bata Forum conference at the Žofín Palace in Prague, followed by a similar conference in Zlín in September. It will also embark on a nationwide tour with a special Bata lecture, travel around the country with the Bata World City Module, and fans of the Bata legacy will not be deprived of new publications or exhibitions.
