The 26th annual Lešetín Carnival commemorated the significant anniversary of Tomas Bata, with the participation of the Thomas Bata Foundation, which is happy to support this wonderful event. The foundation team had its own Bata stand right in the centre of the event, offering visitors to the carnival festivities delicacies based on Marie Bata’s recipes, as well as themed Bata merchandise and books.
“We are delighted to be able to support this unique cultural event, which draws on the traditions and crafts of our ancestors, not to mention the fact that it has been closely linked to Zlín for many years. We are also delighted that this year the organizers took Tomas Bata into account,” revealed Gabriela Končitíková, director of the Thomas Bata Foundation.
There was a great atmosphere in the streets, with elaborate masks to be seen at every turn, a rich cultural program, and specialties that are an integral part of the carnival. And during the traditional burial of the bass, Tomas Bata finally appeared on stage, accompanied by his wife Marie and his close colleague Dominik Čipera. The Thomas Bata Foundation would like to thank the pub Hospůdka U Kovárny, which organizes the Lešetín Carnival, for allowing us to be there and experience it all!
