The Saturday‘s match in the 26th round of the Chance League between Zlín and Slavia Prague was dedicated to the memory of Tomas Bata, whose 150th birthday will be on 3 April.
The sold-out Letná Stadium witnessed several ceremonial moments. The Shoemakers (Ševci) took the field wearing special Bata jerseys, the ceremonial kick-off with a historic leather ball was performed by Gabriela Končitíková, the director of the Thomas Bata Foundation, assisted by project manager Jakub Malovaný, and the fans were not to be outdone, presenting an impressive choreography during the first half that featured a portrait of Tomas Bata alongside the year of his birth.
The Thomas Bata Foundation thanks FC Zlín for their excellent and long-standing cooperation and looks forward to the next meeting, which will take place this time at the Bata Villa during the traditional May Day celebrations.
