Before he became a billionaire, Tomáš Baťa traveled to the USA to learn how to make shoes faster. In a factory in Massachusetts, he was initially the slowest worker because he wanted to understand every detail. Later, when he visited England and shared his modern ideas about fast production and cheap shoes, people there thought his plans were crazy. However, these experiences helped him create the famous 'Baťa system' in Zlín.
