Zlín commemorates 150 years since the birth of Tomáš Baťa

Zlín is celebrating the 150th anniversary of its most famous citizen, Tomáš Baťa. Public TV reports that the city has prepared a big program, including a memorial ceremony and the unveiling of a new statue. The goal is to remind people of Baťa’s ideas and his huge success in the shoe industry. Many people gathered to show their respect to the man who built modern Zlín.
